Booking Appointments via the NHS App – current issue.

This is a very useful way of finding and booking appointments.

However, The NHS App technical team have asked if the below could be cascaded to GP practice patients.

“We’ve identified a potential issue with the ‘Add to calendar’ feature in the NHS App when using the updated GP appointment booking feature. In rare cases (estimated at less than 1% of journeys), the appointment may be added to a user’s personal calendar with the wrong date or time. The date and time will continue to be shown correctly within the NHS App. This only happens under specific conditions, but it could result in a patient missing their appointment, causing a delay to their care.

We continue to send out appointment reminders, so if you have booked in via the NHS App and your calendar shows a different date or time to the NHS App – the NHS App details will be correct – as will those in our reminder.
